Thought Bubble 2015

I just had to quickly mention Thought Bubble! It's such a fantastic comic convention in Leeds, which I've attended with the rest of the Improper Books  gang for the last four years now.  It's the only event which we attend every year and as a team. This year was our best yet, with more titles on our table than ever before!

We had all our books with us: Knight and Dragon,
MULP 1, MULP2, Night Post, Butterfly Gate, Briar,
Porcelain: A Gothic Fairy Tale & Porcelain: Bone China.
Bevis Musson, illustrator of Knight and Dragon,
bringer of citrus fruits and glitter.

I think we've launched a new title at Thought Bubble every year. This year was especially exciting as it saw the launch of our Porcelain sequel, Porcelain: Bone China AND issue two of MULP: Sceptre of the Sun!

I was blown over by how many people excitedly came to pick up copies! It was such a buzz to be behind the table with these guys. Benjamin & Chris had a queue of lovely people for most of the weekend, all wanting signed and sketched-in copies of the new Porcelain!

If you want to read more about the convention and the other exhibitors in attendance, there have been some fab write ups of the event. It was lovely to see Improper Books so fondly mentioned in this review by Anthony Esmond for

Also for downthetubes, Jeremy Briggs includes us in his detailed round up of Thought Bubble creators. Including individual features on each of the creative teams working with Improper Books.

And finally, Thought Bubble also serves as a yearly meet up for friends, united in a common interest but divided in location, journeying to Leeds from all over the country! So it was great to see some familiar faces and make some new friends too. Ahhh, slushy.

Me, Stacey Taylor and Jenni Newman. Seeing these girls is always a highlight!
